By a pool dried up empty

A motel full of dreamers

Caravan of gypsies

Just outside of Nashville

On the verge of bigger things

Writers, poets, and singers

Livin’ week to week

 

My pipes are a little rusty

Still got something to say

If I could only move you

Is the prayer I prayed today

So, I put my words to music

Sing what I know

They pour out kinda simple

Sweet honey flows so slow

 

Flippin’ eggs at the diner

Workin’ hard all day

Rita dances every night

She really earns her pay

Allen he’s haulin’ hay

Doin’ whatever it takes

Waitin’ for our breaks
